This trip has been many years in the planning and many a debate between Charlene and I about what route to take, how much time we should spend in each country and most importantly what we would see and do. In some cases it came down to drawing straws and playing rock, scissor, paper (RSP).

Excerpt from the diary: "For the first time in months we had some great thunder storms in the evening – it was awesome just lying in the tent and watching the lightning light up the skies and bring the ocean to life …….we just kept hoping and preying that the coconuts would not fall out of the tree onto the car and knock one of us out."
