| The Manic Trip
Marvin & Nicole Trip Start: Apr 19 2009 - Trip End: Dec 20 2009
We all have hopes and dreams...for some that suffices...others need to go out and realise them..
So on the 19 April 2009 Marvin and Nicole will set out as the MANIC TRIP to drive from Cape Town to Dortmund in a LandRover Defender 110. We plan to learn loads, see loads, enjoy loads and plan less. The adventure lies in the journey and not the destination...We feel blessed and privileged to go on this journey...share part of our dream with us here.

Marvin and Nicole - Manic
Marvin had decided to leave Germany in 2007 and seek new job experiences and a change of scenery in Cape Town. And what a great scenery he found - both natural and personal! We met in our church cell group one evening in August 2006 in Camps Bay....a friendship that would turn into an engagement 2 years later was formed that night....
So we started to plan for our adventure, went on numerous "testing" trips to Botswana, Namibia, Lesotho and Kalahari, bought endless spare parts (and used them), invested in gear and more gear, got jabbed at least once a month by numerous needles supposedly protecting us against diseases (and raising concerns about a potential budding drug habit) and have now packed all personal (non-bush) belongings into storage and quit our respective jobs.
In just about one week we set off on the first leg of our trip. Both excitement and tensions are rising daily.
