inspired by an all-too-brief five day tour of Namibia our plans to return grew rapidly in ambition. at last revision we are to travel from home (England) to Cape Town overland in our land rover defender acquired specially for the trip.

Excerpt from the Diary: "just south of wadi halfa we passed a japanese guy attempting the route by bicycle - it seemed difficult enough with a turbo diesel."
